Description
This Cat6A SFTP (Shielded Foiled Twisted Pair + Braid) bulk cable is designed for 10 Gigabit Ethernet and future-proof structured cabling installations. Each cable contains four individually foil-shielded twisted pairs wrapped in an overall braided drain shield, built around solid bare 23 AWG copper conductors for robust electrical performance and predictable termination. The PVC jacket (yellow) delivers rugged environmental protection for general commercial installations and comes on 305 m (1,000 ft) reels for easy deployment in offices, data centers, and campus backbone runs.

Frequently asked questions (FAQ)
Q: What is the advantage of S/FTP over UTP for Cat6A?
A: S/FTP (foil per pair + overall braid) provides much better suppression of alien crosstalk and external EMI than UTP, enabling reliable 10GbE performance in noisy or dense installations.
Q: Can this cable support 10G up to 100 meters?
A: Yes — when properly installed and terminated with Cat6A certified components, this cable supports 10GBASE-T up to 100 m per ANSI/TIA-568.2-D.
Q: Do you offer LSZH (low smoke zero halogen) jackets?
A: Yes — FiberMania can supply LSZH, OFNP or other jacket compounds on request (MOQ and lead time may vary).
Q: How should the shield be terminated?
A: Terminate the drain wire/shield to the shielded RJ45 jack/panel and ensure proper bonding to building ground according to your grounding scheme. For most installations, single-end bonding or dual-end bonding should follow local standards and grounding practices.
Q: What testing documentation can you provide?
A: For OEM orders, FiberMania can provide cable electrical test reports, sample alien crosstalk/return loss data and material certificates. Per-reel testing is also available for project acceptance.
